Pay yourself a real paycheck
If you pay yourself last, you'll pay yourself least, or not at all. Your family's budget needs a predictable number. We'll figure out what your business can truly afford, set a paycheck schedule and build toward raising it.
What we'll work on
- Figure out a safe owner's pay based on real numbers, not guesses
- Separate business and household money for good
- A steady paycheck schedule your family budget can plan around
- Set aside money for taxes before you spend it
- A path to raise your pay as the business grows
Common questions
How much should a small business owner pay themselves?
There's no single percent that fits everyone. We start from what your household truly needs, what the business brings in after expenses and taxes, and how much cushion you have. Then we set a number you can keep steady and raise over time.
Should I take a salary or owner's draws?
That depends on how your business is set up (sole proprietor, LLC, S corp). That's a tax question for your CPA. My job is helping you pick a steady amount and stick to it either way.
What if the business can't afford to pay me yet?
Then we find out why, together: pricing, costs, slow collections or too little revenue. Then we build a plan with a date when your paycheck starts.
